Chuga Chuga Chuga Chuga Woo Woo…the beer train is chugging along and as of today I’ve officially made it to six stops, or through a six pack of beer. I am sad that I’m already a quarter of the way through this beer tasting experience.
Today at station number 6 was Central City’s, Red Racer: Northwest Pale Ale. I feel that this just barely fits into the massively broad category of pale ale. It is very hoppy in flavour and lots of bitter at the start, middle, and end. In some places this might be called an IPA, on the tamer scale, but it definitely has the characteristics of an IPA. This just tells me that later in the month when I try their IPA, which must be in this box somewhere, it is going to be somewhat over the top. That isn’t a bad thing, now I have a measuring stick, or beer. This one is very citrusy, floral, and bitter.
