I have no idea what today’s beer is. The bottle describes it as a viking beer with rye and juniper berries and some extra hops they added to make it more juniper like in flavour. I don’t like tree flavoured beers so I’m not overly excited here. However…upon cracking it open it is a super rich ruby like colour, and smells very malty. After a sip it tastes very malty and sweet, some high alcohol here (7.5%), but it is followed by a wave of bitterness coming from the berries and all the hops added. It is a weird combo, a very rich collection of flavours, perhaps a tad bitter at the end, but it stills makes you take another sip. I could have been a viking brewer, or drinker.
