Arusha Dinner from September 10
Arusha Dinner – September 10
So tonight we decided to take out our Arusha friends, Boots, Beans, Phamy, and Pierre for dinner somewhere to thank them for taking us around town and letting us stay with them. Pierre couldn’t make it but the rest of us went to a place called Khan’s BBQ. It is a cool little place that is an auto repair shop by day and by night the muslim owner turns it into a street bbq with some tables. It was soooo good. We had grilled beef, grilled goat, and a crap load of grilled Chicken. There was so much food you had no way of eating it all. First you started with getting salads from the table which are not totally salad as you would normally think but some interesting concoctions of cabbage and lettuce and tomatoes and spices. He had them organised on the table in order of spiciness from nothing to holy crap. All were tasty and when put with the mass amount of meat so tasty.
We all ate too much, enjoyed our Fantas, no beer as muslim places don’t serve alcohol, then made our way back to Boot’s in a taxi.
Thought I’d share that story since I don’t have time to type up a full day. We’re in Kampala, Uganda now, it is very cool, very busy, and very interesting. Going on another safari tomorrow for 3 days at Murchison Falls, can’t wait. We get to do a live version of the Disney Jungle Cruise, sort of.
